Quality construction. I ordered another one after I tried it. I have only used the windshield mount option for this product, but it is well worth the money. Works well.
It holds an N810 fine, but while driving it bounces a lot, I had to place it so the border of the device touches the dashboard to minimize the bouncing.I like the quick release feature.It holds pretty well to the windshield, in approx. one year it has fallen maybe once or twice.
The device does stay secure, and it has a button to pop open the clutches so that your can quickly take your phone with you when you leave the car, or put your ipod in the glove box while. It can be a bit annoying at times, but for the other 95% of the time, it does exactly what I want it to. However, when I'm driving, one of the vent grips tends to lose hold after a while, and my device is usually sitting a bit to the side instead of straight up and down like I would like it to. I use this with my ipod as well as my PDA phone, and it has no problems latching onto them, and I have had no issues with the devices falling out of the clutches. I understand that the clasps need to be able to latch on to the vent, but as I have seen others say, it wasn't exactly a walk in the park. My vehicle doesn't really allow for me to use the windshield or sticky mount set up, so my review only covers the vent mount setup.For starters, it took me about 10 minutes to get this set up, simply because doing this with only two hands ended up being pretty difficult. Once on, it stays on.pretty well. It can be a bit distracting, and my passenger usually needs to push it back up in order to get it situated again, because I can't do it one handed while driving.Overall, this isn't a bad price, even though I wish I would have just gone with the vent mount package instead.
THe rod is made of aluminum and squeak as you bend it or put your pda into it. Other than that it works fine.
Attached it to the windshield in my truck, and after some adjustments got it where it is very steady, well within reach, and easily visible. I think I'll buy one for my Mustang, too.
